Logging in on same network

Am I being thick or is this a defect?;

I am running a test version of smf 2.1 RC2 (with git clone) on my laptop. Logged in as admine  account.
All good. Looks great.

I go to the test site using my phone and a different account called "test".
No can do.
It doesn't say anything. it just won't log in.

I thought this was an RC1 defect, so I stopped at the time to wait for RC2. Same thing.

Am I being an idiot?

Without more details, it's hard to say... because I have had no troubles using any account or device to log in to rc2

It does work on the same laptop. I think I know what's going on. Conclusion; I'm a idiot.
The forum is set up to listen on "localhost"
On my phone I get to it using http://192.168.1.88/xxx .... which is not localhost.

Ignore me rookie error
