Adding code to SMF

Hi Guys,

Not been on much lately as our SMF 2.0.15 is rock solid and runs like a dream, so thanks to all the members that made that happen.

I do have a request to be thought on though, please move this if its in the wrong section too .

We have a fairly busy classifieds section on our forum, and with the amount of people joining and the older lazy members, the classifieds section gets fairly messy and the mods have started hammering it to keep is friendly and usable for all. We do have a "for Sale" template (posted below) that we would like to be put into every new post that gets put into the For Sale section. Just the original post and not replies, most replies get ****** canned anyway because we have basically banned that to keep the section clean, its worked so so, but there are still many people that refuse to comply and so in the end they are locked out of the classifieds section, and so of course they then go and post their sook story all over the forum 

So, we created an easy template that the members have been asked to use, but many say they can't work out how to copy/paste and then fill it in, when you see it, you too will roll your eyes in disbelief lol. Anyway, so what we would love, is for this template to be auto inserted into any for sale post in the classifieds section. I have had a quick look and play, but this is light years above my pay grade

And this is what it should looke like when they fill it out, most of the things we ask for are requirements of the Australian Firearms Registry and also the Police, they are very tough on selling firearms privately and in fact you can't do it without the transfer is done via a firearms dealer or Police officer, that's a whole other subject that can be discussed in another topic .

Ok, so I installed it and that went fine. I have chosen GlobalMods as the only ones to be able to use it while I test it, obviously the admin will be able to use it yes? anyway, it doesn't appear to be working, what its done is remove all the emoticons from the post window and there is no option anywhere to click on another new drop down menu to choose the text I needed?

I'll take a couple of screen grabs and show you what I mean, stand by

it sounds like you had a bad install that conflicted with the existing editor window.... or you have a javascript conflict. (both will result in the described problem) -- please follow up in the mod support thread.


however...   the custom forms mod might be better suited to classifieds...
