Hi,
recently built a site notthenoobs.com using v2.0.15 and cleantek template.
3 questions, if anyone can help;

Q1. How do I set up @notthenoobs.com email addresses?
Q2. Can I do anything to make the site default to https instead of http?
Q3. Is there a way of inserting a live news feed in the top left corner - currently typing this myself

Thanks in advance

Not clear on what your problem is, email addresses and https/http issues are two different critters completely...

Hi Bob.

Yes, Ive just tidied my post a bit to make it clear these are seperate questions
:)

Kindred

1- there is no email setup within SMF.
You have to set up the email address from your host...   you then define the webmaster and system emails addresses for the SMF installation in the admin settings.

2- yes.
a) configure your smf to be using https urls.
b) set your htaccess to force https urls.

3- in short... no as you mean.   You could install a portal mod and use a feed within a block...

Spoke too soon.
Site not showing properly in Chrome, firefox,  or opera on pc, but looks fine on my android tablet
www.notthenoobs.com

My cpanel says I have .htaccess files but doesn't show them (says there is one in public_html/.htaccess but wont access it) and wont let me add new because it thinks I already have it

Probably a file permission issue, but my suggestion is get familiar with a program named filezilla, it's a free FTP utility that is MUCH more flexible than the cpanel based file handler...

Illori

you need to run repair_settings.php and change your URL's to https.

What is repair_settings.php?

Filezilla recommended in post above, it's excellent, but be 100% sure to set transfer type to binary.
