user posted and added a schematic and gets the above error.   why?

That url appears to go nowhere. Have you checked the error_log?

Sorry, it only happens when attaching a schematic to a post.

did you set the attachments to allow the file extension for it?

admin > forum > attachments > attachments settings
Allowed attachment extensions

also while there check the file size limits

that would be my guess anyways.....



also make sure that the user actually has permissions for attachments......

A 500 error is a server side error, so first thing you should do is look at your server's error log. There should be an entry for that, and it may explain what caused it.
