Show information about the poster

What coding should I add to show information about the poster in displaytemplate.php for 1) poster join date ( registered date)  2) like counts he got. I have SMF 2.1 RC 2 running site.

Fairly sure there was a mod for 1 floating around, but for 2 it's guaranteed to make your forum slower to have to recalculate that every view of a thread because the count of how many likes a user has is not kept, so you'd have to get it every time you needed it. (And it encourages a really bad trend of people using it as a measure of value or reputation that is not well deserved, like post count does.)
