I recently installed SMF on my hosted site, via Softaculous and am encountering the following in several of the configuration links, such as security and moderation, current theme, features, and options.

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access this resource.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

So far, this is the only problem I've encountered.  I suspect the problem is with permissions in specific directories on the server.  Is there a resource that specifies what they outh to be, so I can make any needed changes?

TIA.

Did you install 2.0 or 2.1?  Using a host installer is not recommended, they often cause problems.

Thanks for the quick response.  The installation is 2.1.

EDIT:  Sorry, it is 2.0.15

Try installing it manually.  You may also need to disable mod_security.  If it's not in your cpanel, ask host support to disable it.

Thank you.  I will try the mod_security idea first.  If that doesn't solve the issue, I'll try manually installing it.
