Topic: search and replace in the editor

Hello
is it possible to have a function "search + replace" in the editor or to get a editor plugin, having this function?
for example - i want to change some specific signs (umlauts) in a board in all topics beeing lost by changing the provider A to provider B. We used utf8 copied the database and made all settings to utf8 again, but it doesnt work - so we have to change the umlauts in every old thread...

Basically, what you actually need is a database edit, not a manual one...  except it sounds like you have other issues.  If it worked on one host and doesn;t work on a different host, that suggests a problem with the host, not the content
