I'm running SMF 2.0.15 @ http://appliancejunk.com

I'm getting a ton of these errors logged.

QuoteParameter 1 to integrateTemplateGRN() expected to be a reference, value given

From what I can tell just about anything clicked on my site creates the error. Anything from index, boards, post, topic and even in admin area.

My forum seems to be running fine as it is, but I would like to figure out what is cause the error so I can turn error logging back on.

I have not installed any new mods in a long time or any other changes. I check my error log once ever few days or so and normally it just has a few things in it that I consider normal. Such as logs from blocked accounts trying to log in and such things.

Thanks,

Sir Osis of Liver

How would I go about figuring out what mod is broken?

Thanks,

Sir Osis of Liver

Don't recognize it.  Could be remnant code from a mod that didn't uninstall cleanly.  Which mods are you currently running?

... and does that list include a Google Analytics mod? If so, what version?

Arantor

I was going to get on https://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2607 based on the name but I can't look at the package properly on iPad...

Yes, I'm using the Google Analytics mod.

Along with a ton of other mods. The list of mods has grown pretty long over the last 12 years of using SMF.

A lot of them I don't care to even use anymore but when I had tried to uninstall some of them in the past it was not a matter of simply clicking the uninstall button. I had been told I would need to manually uninstall them then and that looked like something I could screw up haha.

Hi,

I see the Guest Registration Notification mod is in my list too.

I'm not sure how to look at the package myself to see or what I'm even looking for.

Thanks,

I suspect it is the Guest Registration Notification (GRN) mod...

I haven't used that mode for awhile and it's has not been enabled in setting.
I just unchecked the last two boxes in the attached screen shot to see if that makes any difference and it did not.

Would I have to uninstall the mod next to see if the error goes away?

Arantor

If it is GRN, it's not the version on the mod site.

So... in your SMF settings table in the database there are a bunch of settings that all start with the word 'integrate'. Can you list all of them please?

Sir Osis of Liver

There's an empty function in GuestRegistrationNotification.php -

function template_grn_below() {}

Yes, and SMF's structure mandates it be there given the way the mod works. When defining a new template layer, both the _above and _below pair have to be defined even if one or other is not used. This is not relevant to the issue at hand, either.

Do I get there using cPanel>Databases>phpMyAdmin?

If so I can log into my cpanel fine, but when I click the icon for phpMyAdmin it ask for me to login again as shown in the attachment.
I can't seem to log in to phpMyAdmin. Even after creating a second new user and password. Maybe I need to contact my host about accessing phpMyAdmin.

Or I'm I looking in the wrong place anyway for SMF settings table?

Thanks,

Sir Osis of Liver

Try logging in with database username/password.

My host has told me it's a known bug that they are working to fix. I'm just waiting on them to fix it before I can login. Hopefully it won't be to much longer.
