Latest Member not showing

In the last few days I've approved some new members to my forum, but the "Latest Member" from several days ago is still showing.

I've cleared the cache, optimized the tables, and all the other "routine" maintenance options, but it's still not displaying the recent members I approved.

Any suggestions? 

Maybe it's because the Latest Member display is based on the date when they registered, not the date when the clicked on the confirmation email?  So if these new members took a few days to clicked the confirmation email that would explain it?

Yes, it's based on latest registration, not latest approval.
