Which one? The fader or the random news lines? And on which theme?

You do realise that either of the news boxes will only display if you actually enter content? If you clear all the textareas in the news manager then neither box will show, regardless of admin settings.

Ah. Just remembered. The news fader relies on being enabled and having actual content, but for some weird SMF reason the random news lines box only relies on being enabled (ie: will display even if there's no content).

So, easy fix: Admin > Current Theme > Enable random news line in the forum header (uncheck that)

That should be the one from what I can see.

Mick.

Why not posting in the theme author's topic? Anyways, maybe remove it from the index.template? Something more or less like this...

// Show a random news item? (or you could pick one from news_lines...)
if (!empty($settings['enable_news']))
echo '
<h2>', $txt['news'], ': </h2>
<p>', $context['random_news_line'], '</p>';

Note... that line is from the default theme. Your custom theme may look the same or a bit similar.

Also...I visited your site, looks like you already have it turned off.

Thanks i will take a look at that,but it is still there

I can't see it, all I can see is the breadcrumb trail.

Drunken Clam

That's your breadcrumb trail. You are on the Home page so it's showing the little House.

daveb47
