Download Profile data will only work with RSS enabled

The new feature in 2.0.16 "Download profile data" will only work if "Enable XML/RSS news" is enabled in the settings for "News and Newsletters".
This seems unrelated though it will use the create xml functions from News.php under the hood.
If the settings is not enabled, only an empty white page is displayed when trying to download the profile data.

We also have issues regarding that feature. I always get a "syntax error, unexpected 'elseif' (T_ELSEIF)" message when clicking the button.

I'm assuming this might be caused by the pretty URL mod we are using since ages. An educated guess?

does your server error log have more details or the SMF error log?

Nothing obvious. I checked the MySQL-Log, Windows events and the IIS related logs. Did I miss anything?
