Avatars not loading

Sometimes avatars are not loading in display template here, requires refresh to see them.  Been happening since .16/.17 upgrade.

Do you have a particular page that this is happening or just anywhere?

I don't have this issue on my end, have you tried a different browser to test?

Pretty much random, not doing it now.  Got a 503 gateway error earlier for a few minutes, maybe Liroy's playing with the servers again.

Yes, might be a server issue, it is usually the case when I encounter anything odd here.
