iif i wanted to put the recent posts in an adjacent column left or ri ght of the fforum is there anyway i can do that?

instead of having the recent posts show at the bottom of the page..
im sick of having to scroll to the bottom to see what happened last

can someone tell me the names of the files involved; its been awhile my brain hurts

Yes, you can do it. The easiest way is to install a portal, then just call the recent posts block in a left panel.

If you are ok with doing a bit (not much) coding yourself, you can also do it with some markup and CSS shenanigans.

But TBH, I never use the damned thing anyway. Once you're logged in you have the Unread Posts and Unread Replies functions, which IMO are far more useful.
