Copy of a post?

I would like to make a topic that has custom entry fields in it to use as a template for other users to copy for a new topic.  I tried the "Clone Topics" mod, but it created a mirror, meaning that if I change one of the clones, both change instead.

Sounds like the Custom Form mod might be the way to go, creating a custom form that users can post to fill in a topic.

Other than that, there's no good easy way to do it that comes to mind. A few bad ones, but nothing that isn't a good chunk of time and effort (e.g. a modified form of the quote function) - copying topics isn't really the problem here.
