Hi,
since we have installed the new 2.1 RC2 version for hxxp:www.binopedia.info [nonactive], users sometimes (not always) encounter an error message when trying to log in. (see attached screenshot)

I am not sure whether it is connected with user login data still saved in the browser'S cahce or because of other reasons.
The error log shows many of these entries:
Type of error: Database
: Incorrect string value: '\xE0\xAE\x9A\xE0\xAE\xBF...' for column 'value' at row 1 http://binopedia.info/cron.php
/var/www/vhosts/36/469487/webspace/httpdocs/binopedia.info/Sources/Subs.php (Line 538)

I also do not know whether this error log is related to the on-screen error message.

Does anyone else experience this login error. What my be the the cause for it, and hiow can we fix it.
Is the error log entry related to it? If not, how can this error be fixed or what is the reason for that.

Thanks.

when you say "new 2.1 RC2 version" - what, exactly do you mean?

The version from our download page or the version from GitHub?

Thanks.
I have browsed the relevant GitHub site and the install annotations. I will see if I can find and paste in some fixes manually. I am not the admin with FTP access to the server. I have developed our own forum colour design and have dived a bit into the code of index.template.php and index.css plus some other stylsheets. So, I can rather recommend the admin colleague which patches might help and be inserted.
Just would like to know which patch would fix the named error message, as it piles up very cosntantly and quickly.
Fortunately enough, one can use the forum still.

do not just randomly apply bits of fixes.

Just overwrite the github version over the previous RC2 version and run upgrade.php

How can I download "GitHub most recent nightly build "?

I went https://github.com/SimpleMachines/SMF2.1 and ==> Code ( from dropdown list) ==>download zip

I got "SMF2.1-release-2.1".

Is it the one? I don't want to make a mistake when I run upgrade.php.

Thanks.
