Is there a way to have the ordinary reply box where the quick response box is?
I don't see why not, and I wanna try it out to see if there is any problem at all with it. Like it is in the bottom anyway so whats the point of the quick response when the standard is not much bigger. Would just make an easy access to the standard response box, which I think would be nice - in any case I wanna try it out. Is it possible?

Ahh great, although now I am on 2.0.17 as I was told I could not upgrade an RC version to the next stable 2.1.0 - so the point of using RC2 fell to the floor for me so I've installed 2.0.17 now.

No, you misunderstood what you were told. RC can be upgraded to stable, just any customisations you make will be removed.
