All the errors have been fixed and the forum has been successfully upgraded to 2.0.17.

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the help, and in particular to Doug for sorting it out for me. Apparently it was a server problem, and not something I had done wrong, which is a relief to find out. I don't feel quite so stupid  ;D

and what you are trying to do to get these errors
