got this when trying to logon as Admin from spare laptop
*as I have done hundreds of times - first time after make v.2.0.18
thought maybe was because still logged on in main laptop
so log out there?
still had a problem logging in on 2nd laptop
then had an idea - flushed the browser cache for my forum
then worked
did a backup test  tried to log in via different browser -
same error message - (ie was still loggen in as Admin)
so guessing this is now built into SMF _ so just sharing the solution
(in case I was not the only one to not know this)

mod_security is a frequently misconfigured piece of junk that should mostly be turned off... (has to be done at the host level)

nothing to do with SMF in this case

  • We were all equal in the end.
Look in cPanel > Security, you may be able to disable it there.
