Member "Location" not displaying

Recently loaded SMF 2.0.18 and using Curve Theme. The location block is there during registration...but the entered info doesn't show up when posting.

Searched this forum and found this response from 2018:

I just went in to Admin - Configuration - Modification settings - Miscellaneous

There's a checkbox for "Show The Member Location in Post". This was unchecked somehow, possibly from an upgrade.  In any event, I have now checked this box and all is well again.

The Miscellaneous category page is empty in my case.

in your admin under configuration go to core features

make sure that Advanced Profile Fields is turned on
as well as any other settings you wish to use is turned on as well

then go to admin > configuration > Features and Options > Profile Fields
make sure that Location is active (and also if you want it to display on registration)

by default I do not think that location is displayed in posts, for that you have to use a modification

Thanks...each of the listed mods show errors prior to installing them.  I'll stay clear of them.

just means that something else you've installed or did changed the default

you can still install the mod but you will need to fix the errors

or as Steve suggested just create a custom profile field, probably a lot easier

I personally love the countryflags mod as a simply and easy way to show which country users are from....is helpful when you are running a support type forum and answers depend upon where the user is located.
