Change media player that speaks captcha characters during registration

I selected VLC.  Many registrants will not have that media player.

1.  What medial player is most universal and that a new registrant will have on their machine?
2.  Where do I go to change the player that is used to read the captcha?

Or, advise me of best practice regarding this feature.

Just don't even bother with captcha.   Turn it off..

Use questions instead.  Add 20-30 questions and ask 1 or 2 during registration

Or install the recaptcha mod

Captcha is pretty much useless, bots eat it for breakfast.  Try this mod -
