Textarea for new/replying to posts is skewing off to the right (Chrome/FireFox)

When creating a new or replying to a topic, the textarea is skewed to the right, about 480 characters.  If going all the way to the right, can see the box resizer and pull it back in, but the same thing happens when trying a new reply.

Tested on Edge/Safari, working fine.  Chrome and FireFox seem to be an issue.

Current version 2.0.18

When posting this here on the support forum, not seeing the issue, so seems to be something with my site?

I found the profile option:  'Show WYSIWYG editor on post page by default.'

Is that the only way to fix this?

are you using a custom theme? does this do this with the default theme?
a link to your site would probably help
what mods are installed? which theme(s) is this happening on?

We have a custom theme, but I switched to default and saw the same behavior.

The only recent mod is Gallery Pro, but we had an older version that needed to be updated when I patched recently from 2.07 to 2.0.18

All of these are 10 or so years old, some I have noticed are not working anymore, like MessagePreviewOnHover:

I'd either remove the ones not working and see if that changes anything or use the large upgrade package after which you'll have to reinstall mods.
