Hello all,
I am having an installation problem.  I entered the correct hostname, user name, and password.  I kept the default "smf" and "smf_" mySQL database name and prefix, because I am unsure of what to use.

I have hxxp:godaddy.com [nonactive] as my host, and  I don't think I need to create a database, but if I do, please instruct how.

I tried creating a database, but the software required me to create tables, fields, (varchar, nulls, etc) and I am clueless on what options to choose.

I tried to use the line "create database smf;" but I do not know where to go to enter this line of code.

Help me if you can.
Thanks,
idunno

You have to firstly create a database. (whether named smf or else)
Creating a database is not a process that requires creating tables also..

OK.  How do I go about creating a database?  In mySQL it requires me to create the fields, etc.

You dont have to run a query to create a database.
Dont you have phpMyAdmin ? You should see a link thats named "create a database" on the main page of it.
Or maybe GoDaddy has any other database management system..

Thanks for the help, I figured it out.  My username and database name was the same.
