Security mods for 2.1

Generally, I'm wondering if there have been any changes in 2.1 (as opposed to 2.0.17 or 18) which as part of core make the forum more secure?

Specifically on my forum (currently 2.0.17) I am running these security mods:
Stop Spammer   v 2.3.9
httpBL   v 2.5.1

Stop Spammer was last updated February 25, 2021 (so recently). There's no evidence of a 2.1 version, at least as yet.

httpBL was last updated March 1 2020 (so >1 year ago). Again no indication of any 2.1 version.

Are there any recommendations as to:
1. Whether security mods are required with 2.1, and if so
2. Which security mods are recommended for 2.1?

Ta.

In general 2.0 and 2.1 are fairly similar where it comes to spammers and bots, you can set them both up fairly well without any need for additional tools from mods, but it requires some manual effort.
Security questions is a very good option, as long as you make your questions unique enough and have enough of them to rotate so that the same questions aren't always asked time and again.

As to the spam fighting mods, I don't really have any experience with them on 2.1, so I can't comment much on those.

Thanks mate I do have the security questions squared away so they appear to be working.

Stop Spammer picks up about one a week that sneaks through other means.

Difficult to assess how well / to what degree httpBL is contributing.

If you check the httpBl logs via 'Administration Center >> MOD httpBL >> Spammers Log' you'll find an entry logged every time the MOD httpBL stops a spammer - on the most active forum I manage there are more than 250 entries each week ...

Of course, my brain failed temporarily. Yes it seems quiet active and effective :)

The upshot being we need 2.1 compatible versions for these 2 excellent mods.
