Hi all, running SMF 2.0.17 about to upgrade soon. just within the last 2 weeks, none of the forum owners cannot modify membergroups or change them. Iam running ubuntu 18 something. ive checked all apache2 and mysql error logs and see nothing out of the ordinary. what next to try before i rebuild a whole new forum from scratch and import my database to see if it fixes it. but rather not go that route yet. thanks everyone :) maybe file permissions got screwed up, who knows.

Hello, you've been quite descriptive except for the most important bit :P What do you mean by "cannot change"? Do they see the menu but doesn't open? White page? Crash? Unable to see the menu entirely?

It's so powerful that on this post and even in the two PMs you sent me,you still answered my question very quickly and you're apologizing for the delay. You're the #1 support I've probably ever encountered man, so much respect for that. Thank you, and get better soon.

I'll keep this in my siggy for a while just to remind me that someone appreciated what I did while others didn't.

Have you checked SMF's error log too?

IIRC, we have in the past seen issues with admin settings not saving properly when there are differences between URL settings & forum usage.  E.g., if the forum is https, but some urls visible in repair_settings.php are all http.  Or vice-versa.

If you have a certificate and are navigating the forum via https, confirm all your urls visible in repair_settings.php are all indeed https.
