Unable to verify referring url revisited

Hello, using smf 2.0.18
I'm moving to a new hoster, transferred files and databases but when trying to login it shows this error AND redirects to the old hoster. I read the solution would be to 'subdomain independent cookies' but i can't login so can't get into admin and i wonder if this is also relevant to my case. I can edit settings.php and source. In settings.php i edited the directories/files section, these should work correctly. What else can i do?

What is repair_settings.php? Try that out and see if it works.
