Attachments

Good Afternoon,
I moderate a Union Message Board built with Simple Machines Forum.  In the past, I've been able to upload attachments.  This feature stopped working recently.  When I try to upload an attachment, I get an error message. When I try to view an older attachment, I get a 404 not found message.  This started about three months ago.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Is there anything I can do to fix it?
