Best way to Close/Archive

What's the easiest or best way to close/archive an entire forum? To make the whole entire forum/boards readable only?

Do I have to go in and change all the membergroups to read only (but leave their board access intact as far as members or guests viewable) or just change all the boards to read only? (And what if you have 50+ sub-boards?)

Just looking for opinions and advise please?

Thats what I was thinking but I have one board that has 50+ sub-boards (not all in use) but would setting the parent board to read only set all the sub-boards to read only too?

I'll have to check, can't remember if they were set to inherit or not!?

Permissions do not inherit in this way.

that's why we use permissions profiles.


If the boards all use the same permission profile -- then, instead of changing the BOARD to the read-only profile -- change the profile to remove all posting permissions.
