Love the SMF Articles but it would be nice to imbed an article catalog within a SMF Forum Board
you would have a forum that maybe had a database of documents to support that

ie: forum: Microsoft Office
    folder: help documents or maybe howto's

P.S. the verification letters are VERY hard to read

There is the articles mod, the faq mod, the KnowledgeBase mod and a downloads mod....

Any one of those does something similar to what you describe without corrupting the concept of a forum/board versus a directory

But you could do what you indicate using redirect boards, I guess
