Several converter questions...

I've been doing some research on this here, but haven't found the answers to these questions. I'm rather new at this. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I have a phpbb 2.0.17 that I want to convert to SMF as easily as possible. This does not need to be done immediately, if there are advantages to waiting,

1- Would it be possible to convert just selected threads from phpbb2.0.17 to my SMF forum? And is so, HOW?

2-
A- Would I be better to convert to 1.5 now and upgrade when 1.1 RC goes gold?
-or-
B- Would I be better to convert to 1.1 RC now and upgrade when it goes gold?
-or-
C- Would I be better to WAIT until 1.1 RC goes gold to convert from phpbb?


3- And why?

I don't think you can select the threads only. The converter runs through all tables. It really doesn't matter to which version you convert:

1.0.5 is the latest stable release
1.1 RC1 is a release candidate. Although there are some bugs in this release, it is a really cool version with a lot of options. If you are not comfortable with beta-testing, you should stick to the stable release.

Please note that there are two convertors:

for SMF 1.0.x, use the one on the download page;
for SMF 1.1.x, use the one you'll find here.
