[2.1.1] Session verification failed - Users and admin can't post topics

Hello guys!

We have a problem in our board. As Admin i can't save settings, sometime, mostly in Firefox. The same problem by users to post postings or can't like posts.

I clear the cache in the forum, clear in the browser (FF) also the cookies. I renamed the cookie.

But this was not solved.

I've read more solutions here in the forum but nothing has changed.

Did you do any modification to your forum before these errors start happening?

I can't say. But i will deactivated the Addons and see, if it helps.

FancyBox 4 SMF
Automatic Attachment Rotation (and Resize)
Image Attachment Thumbnail View             installed as Emulation
Remove "Last Edit"

It's not a GoDaddy problem. It's a 'you left the page open for too long without doing anything' problem, where the security tokens that get exchanged every so often to verify 'you are who you say you are' get stale.

You can try editing Admin > Maintenance > Server Settings > Cookies and Sessions > Seconds before an unused session timeout, and make it a number bigger than the default of 2880.

What this setting is about is that while you're visiting the site, you get two security passes. One of them is your ID card that says 'I am PLoyd', and the other is like a temporary pass you get while you're visiting, but it has to be refreshed very regularly. Inside every 48 minutes, to be precise.

If you open a thread, and then don't click on anything or submit anything for 48 minutes, this secondary security pass will time out and you get the error you get.

The way I usually solve this for posting timeouts is to turn on the autosaving post drafts which submit every 30 seconds by default thus keeping the pass active unless you don't *type* anything for 48 minutes.
