Spellchecker option not present after upgrade to 2.1

Carried out a successful migration to SMF 2.1 of a friend's forum - thanks very much to the team! I used the command line option and it worked flawlessly.

For the upgrade the forum was moved to a new host running newer Ubuntu. I installed all the required software for the built-in spellchecker function, and PHP confirms it is there, but I don't even see the tickbox to enable it in the admin page anymore. Was it removed?

This forum is made of of scale model makers who are a little resistant to change, and this has been raised as an issue.

I think spellcheck feature was removed, mainly because browsers have built-in spellcheckers.

Yes, the built-in spell check feature was removed in 2.1 since most browsers have a built-in spellcheck feature these days.
