I've looked and looked..can some kind person please tell me if there is a Mod for making a forum password protected please? I'm sure I found one once...I know about making forums accessible to certain groups with a certain number of posts..I want a password protected one. Thanks in advance,🙂

Since you are posting in a 2.0 board, I take it that you are using a 2.0.x version of smf. In that case this mod will do what you are asking for.

Just be aware, password protecting a board is the least secure method of protection periof protection. The password can easily be shared in chat or anywhere else offline from your system and people can get in

It's just one forum I want it for..not the whole board. 🙂

In smf terms, the forum is the site. A board is the part of the forum that holds topics/threads

So, you asked to password protect a single board in the forum.

My statement holds true,  however. Using a password is the LEAST secure method of access control.

Just making sure here, you do know you can use membergroups for this, and not have it be anything to do with post count? If you use a password, you send the password to 3 people, 1 leaks it and suddenly 10 people have access. You use a membergroup, assign it to 3 people, and that's it - If the groups are properly set up, there's no way for the access to be transferred or copied.

Yes I know that..I've already done that. Users will have to pm me for the pw. If someone is posting there who has NOT sent me a pm,they'll have access denied. However the members of my forum are very nice. I had a pw protected forum when I was with Mybb and it worked fine. No problems at all. Thanks for all your help. 🙂
