Installed some new themes and..

Why does something as simple as installing some new themes have to cause problems? Seriously? You cannot view this attachment.

Now I cant log out or log into the acp..🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Some themes prior 2.0.14 might not work very well, and would be missing the login patch in most cases.

You can always use the URL to set the default theme for yourself if other theme is broken.
forum.com/index.php?theme=1

Oh well then that's the problem, you are using incompatible themes for your version.
Use 2.1 themes instead.

What smf version are you using? In your post above you say that you are using 2.0.19, but now you want this topic to be moved to the 2.1.x board?

Yes I am running  2.0.19

Smf 2.0.x themes are not compatible with Smf 2.1.x versions, and vice versa as well.

I have moved this to the 2.1.x support board.

Try to add theme=1 to your forum url to force the default theme For ex:

Code Select Expand

https://yourforumurl/index.php?theme=1
Then you can get to your Admin Panel and delete those 2.0.x themes.

Cant. Because in my profile I had one of the installed themes set as my default..so I cant log into the acp. Wont let me,
I'll have to wait until my co admin comes to the rescue,,as usual.... #useless.

Run repair_settings.php tool and select the following option:

Set SMF Default theme as overall forum default
for all users:

That will force the default theme for everyone for sure.

God knows,and it was only tit for heavens sake Steve.  I mean,.blue tits..birds? sheesh..  Anyway..Skyon is logged in now so he can delete them for me. All this is because I wanted an autumn,halloween and Christmas theme..plus a couple of nice dark ones for you,

It's such a  shame. The autumn theme is really nice... there are no seasonal themes for my version,  🙄

I know. I'm moving this back to 2.0 support. The theme in your first post is the correct one for your forum version. There has to be a problem with the forum itself that needs correcting before new themes can be added.

Then you go on and say:

Please be very clear when providing details such as the forum version that you are using. Otherwise it gets very confusing when you first say something, and then come back with something quite different. Not to mention time how consuming that is, going back and forth to just establish the forum version, about which I am still not sure what you are using.

The session problem is a factor in some older 2.0.x themes, because we upgraded session security in 2.0.15.

It's a fairly easy fix -- replace 4 lines or so of the index.template.php code.

The other thing is, however, installing themes after mods may cause issues, since the template edits for the mod are not done in the new theme.

Again, usually a fairly easy fix,  but you have to be willing and able to edit php files

All sorted now. My co admin had the same issue when he tried the halloween theme. He ended up having to change it via the database. What a performance.,all because I wanted new themes.
