Odd behaviour when quoting text on Android

I have a user on my forum reporting very odd behaviour when posting to a thread using quoted text. He is using Android 11 and Firefox browser.

When he has quoted another user's text and starts to type his own, the first time he uses a period (full stop), the forum changes it (the period) to the word "quote". Subsequent uses of a period does not produce the word "quote", just the first instance. My forum https://www.good-music-guide.com/community is using SMF 2.1.3 with no mods apart from SMFads. No other users are reporting this behaviour.

Any ideas?

I use android with Firefox and have never seen this issue...

It honestly sounds like a individual issue, not a forum issue.
The smf software doesn't replace text inline, as you type..  only as the page is rendered.
