It's been a long time since I've installed a forum but would like to try my hand at it again.  I've installed a fresh SMF 2.1.3 forum on a fresh db and the first thing I wanted to do was install Tiny Portal as I remember it being a great portal interface.

When I do that I get the following error in both Chrome and Edge.  FF just hangs:

This page isn't working right now

xxx.ca can't currently handle this request.

HTTP ERROR 500

I went to the TP support thread and was told it wasn't a TP issue.  So looking for help a little more globally.  As an addon, I couldn't even change my timezone in my user settings in Chrome without getting an invalid token error and had to do that in Edge.

My preferred browser is Chrome but will use whatever is needed.

Shades.

Have you tried one of the other portals? Just to see if you get the same errors?

Not yet but someone else in that thread said that other mods were having the same issues.  I'll go look at other portal options.

Turns out my PHP was too old.  I looked at another portal which said it needed PHP 8, which promptly broke my forum, so I went to 7.4 and now it works.

Originally I was 7.2
