I'm sure it was a stupid setting, but does anyone know where i can find it?

It's missing across the entire member list on their profile summary.

The only thing I recall being near was profile-modify to remove bday, and I checked it against another forums, and aside from bday they're fine.

Too many penguins on the iceberg...another just got nudged off.

@rjen

I am pretty sure that was removed in SMF 2.1

Oh wait, it is posted in the 2.0 board... sorry
Running SMF 2.1 with latest TinyPortal at www.fjr-club.nl

I don't remember specifics, but I think it was simply limited to admin only. And I fully agree with this, if your users want to contact each other they can do so via PM and exchange contact info if they really need to.

Oh, wait - This is 2.0?
It should be in Admin, Security and Moderation:

- Do not reveal contact details of members to guests
- Allow viewable email addresses

I'll look.

But as admin I cannot see the little mail envelope icon by their avatar on their profile page.

I checked both of those options (tested) and still no change.

You cannot view this attachment.

Illori

does it show if you use the default theme?

also you have not confirmed which version you are using.

rcane

2.0.19.

Have not tried default theme, but I can assure you it was there just a few hours before the OP.

Let me go try the default....

...... ok, YES, it's on the default theme.

Which file expresses that icon in the appropriate div?  I can do a side-by-side to see what happened.

I noticed that it doesn't matter if a member has "allow users to email me" or not.

Well, in the profile, it's Profile.template.php, in threads it'll be Display instead.

That said, I wouldn't get too hung up on it, it is a feature that was removed from 2.1 for being a spam magnet (when it even worked which wasn't as often as you'd think), and unless you actually use it - which you shouldn't - what does it matter anyway?

Well, i used it quite a bit as most of the report pages I made included the member's id_member in a url to open the email page.  I don't recall it not working at any time.  I'll go take a look.

Again, just for me.  Not them.

rcane

I found it in profile.template, and it's all there with 'yes's' and permission overrides.  Looks as it should from what i can tell.

The profile area were the mail icon should be don't even have a hoverable link--as if the href is there with no content to see.

Stumped.

But, I just realized that the email address itself is selectable (stupid me).  I had just always gone to the envelope icon since day one as it was always there.

Oh well.
