Version 2.019 on Windows 11.  Settings allow unlimited file size for attachments. Modify existing document.

If I try to save 8 M file that I selected using attachments and settings, it thinks for a bit and then boots me out to a new topic.  I have tried this on both Chrome and Firefox.  Same result.  No error message at all.  Attachment is not saved

Apparently this may require a change to PHP.INI which I don't have access to.  I've put in a request to my host to see if they can/will change the file upload size.  I will post further if that fixes it but in the meantime if anyone has a different solution I'd like to hear it.

You can change the setting in cpanel > software > select php version > options > upload_max_filesize.

You also need to change post_max_size.

Thanks to all.  Post-max-size in admin was already at unlimited, and my wonderful host fixed php for me. So now all is good
