SMF updates

I currently have SMF 2.0.19. I see that there has been several updates since. I used to go to updates and maintenance and simply click on updates. However my forum currently tell me that 2.0.19 is the current version. My forum has run so error free since it's creation that I'm not sure why I no longer get a message that a later version is available.

Because that is the latest version for that branch . When 2.0.10 will come out, you will get a message to apply the patch through the Package Manager.

If you want to upgrade to Smf 2.1.4. you will have to do a manual upgrade.

Is there an advantage to updating to version 2.1.4? Or show I just wait for update notifications on my forum?

Well, the old 2.0 series isn't going to be updated to support any new PHP version that came out in 20220 or later. Security fixes only at this stage, which is the last leg of life. I'd like to gently nudge you into thinking of possibly upgrading soon. Create an extra directory, copy your database, install 2.1.4 to run alongside your existing 2.0.19 forum, and test drive.
