Suddenly can't post or reply without having any changes to forum 2.0.19

Suddenly  can't post or reply as administrator without having  made any changes to forum 2.0.19.

Checked post limit was first 0 changed it to 65535 no change so back to 0,

when I post a reply a few lines the msg is blank, also when I do a new topic

Are there settings besides post limit elsewhere in admin or database Mysql?


Thought of upgrading to 2.1.4. but see some have expierenced errors there with upgrading.

seems provider had all my sites on php 5.6.40 2 hours ago don't know if that is a glitch/error, login with them oft gives unknow error

put it on 7.1.33  (highest was 8.0 if i recall)   will try next if error persist, keep you updated

no error log, yes it's enabled for all members by default

mostly copy paste from either notepad +++ or regular notepad

also tried typing text  that worked even if I copied/pasted that one/more times, but when I tried to add from either notepads it failed wasn't showing...strange

You should probably upgrade to 2.1.x, sooner rather than later -- because 2.0.x is on life-support as php versions get retired.

never-the-less, your issue is strange - because computers don't "suddenly" just start acting differently. Something has to cause a change.

So, What mods do you have installed?
what's your forum URL?
Anything in the SMF error log? (you said no... but I'm just double checking)
Anything in the SERVER error log?

can you please, clearly restate the actions you take and the point of failure?
e.g.
1- click the new post button
2- new post screen is displayed
3- paste content from notepad++
4- press "post" button.....


(what happens if you try to TYPE a post instead of pasting?)

Try disabling or uninstalling Feedposter.  May have auto updated and broken something.

So I am going to assume that you were able to post by copying from the same applications prior to this issue? Or is this something new you have just started doing? I also assume you are trying to copy and paste formatted text correct?

Something somwehere has caused the issue as things don't stop working just like that, out of nowhere for no reason at all.

Checked all files in all maps on server, no problems there,
to make sure I did a large upgrade 2.0.19 so all mods were disabled

and still error excist , it's only in post-topic, block I can make bbc, html or other in any form or length

It said : Je MySQL-versie voldoet niet aan de minimumeisen van SMF.

asked provider to update it to 5.6 or higher, but january 1 they're moving from germany to sweden with all accounts (they were bought by another hostingprovider) so it's possible  I have to wait on that for new mysql version.

But that doens't solve my post problem as first stated.
