Went to Forum Maintenance with SMF and no option to back up. I did a backup from phpmyadmin all went well but I still have some other (domain) in there yet. (My old one) I renamed in the sql file and had hundreds renamed to new but after getting board back up. still wants to read old in some post.

The backup option was removed from the Admin Panel in the 2.1.x branch.

It was removed, because it was never actually reliable and we always recommended you use actual purpose built tools instead. The backup option within SMF was basically meant to be a last resort, and often failed for larger forums. Phpmyadmin is actually a better tool.

You can use phpmyadmin, as mentioned above, if you have a small to medium size forum. If you have a large forum you can use the Backup function built in cPanel or some other third backup tools.

But, I. Think That the OP question is not related specifically to the backup but related to how to change the information in the database. 2 point to his new location.
