I have SMF 2.0.X package manager tells me there is new version 2.0.Y install that.. I click install, tests are successfull, SMF tells me it was installed successfully but the old version remains the same 2.0.X...

I uploaded the latest SMF as large upgrade "smf_2-1-4_upgrade.tar.gz" doesnt recognize... I extracted the contents of zip file, doesnt recognize. I try to upload via Package Manager, it fails and tells me to try ftp  >:( .

I believe something is wrong with Permissions but I checked them and they seem to be okay.. Any hints or which files/folders should check? I dont know if it is relevant but Im missing the "temp" folder.

On the other hand can I just extract the SMF-2.1.4 files on my 2.0.X and overwrite it? Or delete all 2.0.X first and then upload 2.1.4 files?

You cannot perform a large upgrade from the package manager.

It makes sense you'd stay in 2.0.x if you're patching/updating the forum. E.g from 2.0.18 to 2.0.19.
If you wanted to upgrade to 2.1.4 (the latest version), you need to perform a large upgrade.

As the OP has been here after Diego's post without further input, marking this paused/abandoned.
