Transferring my old forum to a new website/hosting service

I really apologize in advance as I have little knowledge in this area, so please don't bury me too bad.  I was trying to take my current forum (2014, 2.0.7) from my old website and attach it (with all the data) to the new website and hosting service. The person who created the new website asked if SMF offers the ability to embed the forum as a widget on 3rd party websites or if I can get in touch with the site owners and ask them for their "RSS Feed URL.  I'm assuming getting in touch with the site owners would involve reaching out to my old webmaster who has my old site on his server.  This part might be an issue as he has not returned any texts or calls for a year.

I tried the following from what I could find here:

-Go to News and Newsletters
-Select Settings
-Check the box next to Enable XML/RSS news
-Enter the RSS feed URL
-Customize the RSS feed widget
-Copy the embed code for the RSS feed widget

The check box is already populated and I can't find any RSS Feed URL.

From what I was last told a year ago from him was my forum is out of date and I can lose all of the posts if I don't update, but also said going from this old version to a new version will take a lot of work and time.  I'm pretty much a grom when it comes to this so I just don't know and will appreciate any help anyone can give.

Much appreciated!

I guess as a Part B to this would be... is there a way I can save my old website to my hard drive for offline viewing?  I want to retain a copy of my old website as it has all of the history (along with my forum) that I want to keep as back up.

Thanks again

No idea what this means.  It's a simple matter to link the forum to main website via website menu.  Nothing to do with RSS.  If you are able to d/l the forum database and files, you can install it anywhere.

I really appreciate the reply.  I'll see if this helps, but really only relaying what was emailed to me.  Much appreciated once again.

(Last time I was any real good on computers was hacking games on the Atari 800XL, which definitely shows my age) lol

If you have access to your host control panel you can install the forum yourself, then have your webmaster link to it from your website.

I vaguely remember playing Pong on an Apple IIc, and even more vaguely a brief encounter with FORTRAN IV on punchcards back in the 60's.  Still makes me shudder.
