You have already done that, by causing the same error more than once.
If you want, you can of course experiment and try to find alternative ways to trigger the error, but that will do no good to you or anyone else - Your best course of action would be to tell your host about the circumstances and see if they are willing to do something about it.

I wrote to the hoster about this. He said that this can't happen.
As web programming and virtual hosting specialists, can you suggest any way to cause (run) the error?

Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen

Well, you have the error logs - Show them to your host, and ask them to explain how it was logged if it can't happen.

Dude.

Your host has
a) proven themselves to be an overseller. They have overloaded the server and are now trying to deny it.
b) proven themselves to either be idiots or untrustworthy.

We have explained the ONLY way this error can happen...  and they just said "nope"

At this point, we have spend MORE than enough time trying to support you in a case where the problem has absolutely nothing to do with SMF.

Your ONLY resolution is to switch to another host. Hopefully one which is more competent/honest.
You were provided several suggestions above.

Honestly, I have 15 sites hosted with ICDSoft. I have asked them for assistance many times over the last decade.
a) they have never charged me extra for assistance.
b)Every subscriber gets assistance - usually within minutes of adding a ticket.
c) when they encountered a server problem, they acknowledged and fixed that problem.
d) they have never tried to blame the software when there was an actual server problem.

There are no technical specialists on my tariff, but just users.
In order for my problem to be looked at, I need to pay.

Don't know how to load 10 MB RAM in another way?

User2

Kindred, my tariff is very cheap. You probably didn't have such a cheap tariff.
I had technical support on the previous hosting, but hosting costs 3 times more expensive there.
Because technical specialists need to support families and they cannot correspond for free. If you need technical specialists, switch to another more expensive tariff.

There has to be someone you would contact if your server simply stopped working - This is an issue of the same level.
It's not a "support issue", it's a service level issue. You are not getting what you are paying for.

Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen, I realized I have the wrong hosting and I am being deceived.
But now I have another question: Don't know how to load 10 MB RAM in another way? Just for the sake of interest. As a web programmer and server specialist, wouldn't you be interested in doing this check?

well...  if you're paying ANYTHING, you are not getting anything in return, so it's wasted money.
paying $10 a month at many hosts gets you actual support --  and, if you want your site to be accessible without errors, that's worth it, IMNSHO.

As for your continued questions...   please stop.
You have gone far beyond support for our product.

you cannot fix this unless you move users off this server or add more physical resources. in otherwords there is NO way for you to fix this unless you own the server and hosting on it.

User2

If you don't want to suggest a way, then write directly: we won't do this.
You constantly write to me about my hosting, although I asked a different question a long time ago.

User2

Illori, I realized that I have bad hosting, etc. I asked another question.

Arantor

I would know how to "load another 10MB" but there is *literally no point*. If the error logs you already have do not convince you, producing more of the same isn't going to convince you any further.
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

Yes, I am aware that you asked another question - and I am telling you -- as the Support Lead here on Simple Machine -- we have spent too much time and effort trying to explain and then re-explain and re-re-explain the problem to you.
This is not an SMF problem. This is a problem with your host.
We are not going to provide any further  debugging or explanation on doing things with your current, terrible, host.

So -- I suggest that you either get a new host or ask your questions on the user-support section of your host -- you will get no further assistance for this issue here.

craft  a  php script to allocate and zerofill several blocks of memory in a large loop. But if itt really runs out so soon, wouldn't other areas of the forum be unusable?

User2

live627, I'm just a user, not a web programmer, I won't be able to write a php script.

User2

On my virtual hosting, I change the PHP Mode in the site settings. I have three of them:
CGI
Apache module
FastCGI (Nginx + PHP-FPM)

When I select these two modes, the error does not occur:
Apache module
FastCGI (Nginx + PHP-FPM)
