Hi all,

Newbie here so please forgive me if this question has been asked before, but I cannot find anything.

I have a new installation of SMF 2.1.4 and while the Registration Agreement is present, there is no Privacy Policy - when selected, there is nothing there to edit and no way of adding anything.

If I'm missing the obvious, please tell me..!

You are in the right place, but it doesn't seem to be working for you - Try the default theme? Are any errors logged when you visit the page?

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. Same result on the default theme, and no error messages anywhere.

Is there not a text file I can create and put somewhere..? I'm stumped. I've been a moderator on SMF before (an older version though) but this is the first time I've had to battle with admin stuff..!

have you tried another browser? that screen should show the input box for for the policy.

I'm using Firefox, don't have another installed, but I'll see if I can find one.

Ok, I just installed Brave and no difference, still nothing to edit on that page  :-\

Using Fedora Linux, not Windows, if that makes any difference, although I don't see how it could.

It actually very well could, often the versions of browsers for linux are not exactly the same as they are on Windows.
What version of Firefox were you using? Brave is known to break things on it's own, so I'd rather look at FF first.

Using the latest version 129.0.2

It just seems strange that everything else is working but not this.

OK, I've been using the same version, and no issues for me - so that's not likely it.
Any browser extensions that might intervene with code? Any browser console errors?
Something is blocking the form from showing.

No errors at all, the page to edit the registration agreement works fine, so I would have thought the privacy policy would work in the same way, but it appears not. Where would the text for it be stored..? Could I enter it into a text file somewhere..?

Ok, edit - I have restarted Firefox with all extensions and addons disabled and it is now working fine, so it must be one of these that is causing the problem, I'll have to check each one to see what is causing it.

I'll post again when I find out, thanks for all the help.

Ok, it seems that the Ghostery extension in Firefox was causing the problem. I've whitelisted my site now and it's all working fine.

I'll mark the topic solved, many thanks for everyone's help.
