When a message is deleted or edited through moderation or administration, the user must be informed via email or PM. Otherwise, the authoritarian attitude of the person or platform is proven!
I have reports of several people who are afraid to open a topic. I don't have. I believe that the SMF does not condone anyone's ignorance!

I went through 2 years of your posts, not a single post was deleted as far as I could see.
EDIT: Sorry, I was mistaken - There was one deleted post, that was directly aimed at a single team member, calling them the "The worst person in the SMF".
This is something that we do not allow, and will not allow, so the deletion was completely justified in my opinion.
If you want to complain about a moderation issue, report a post and explain in your report, or contact a team lead or project manager.

We do often request people to avoid unnecessary formatting though, because it may make it difficult for others to read.
We want to keep the forum readable for everyone, on different devices and with different accessibility requirements.
The needs of the many, over the wants of the few and so on.

Also, this is our site - We get to make the rules. I am one of those "hidden users", are you trying to say I shouldn't be allowed to do that?

As for edits... yes,I have edited your recent posts to remove the pre bbc tags that you keep surrounding your text with.

Why?

Because pre bbc tags don't do word wrap on mobile devices. Your posts are unreadable on mobile devices -- and there is no reason to use those tags for a normal message.

You're free to use a different platform if you don't agree with our philosophies ... just keep in mind SMF is free and is one of, if not the most, secure platform out there. And it's all run by volunteers. Any further disparaging remarks about who runs the whole system will cause this topic to be locked.

You have a interesting understanding of the concept of belonging, but leaving that aside, if the idea is to be as inclusive as possible, then it be advisable not to use unnecessary formatting in posts that make it more difficult to read what you have written.  Adopting such an approach would make it easier for everyone who reads your posts to understand you.  On that basis, I am sure that you would understand why some of your posts have been reformatted.

Also, juse so you are aware, I have removed one post of yours from this topic because it was a) unnecessary and b) could have easily been edited into the previous post, given the few minutes posting difference.  Please do bearin mind going forward that serial posting is usually considered to be poor netiquette.

As Lex stated earlier, the proper procedure for raising any issues to the Team (moderators) about moderation is via the report to moderator button or via contacting an appropriate member of the Team.  There are thus the sorts of measures in place that you infer are missing or lacking

1- It doesn't matter to me. But as you may have seen, before deleting it, it was already edited.

2- I always use it
select all and "Remove formatting" On my forum it works. This is when I use copy/paste or a link, image, etc...

3- We know this is not the first time and a report would be the same treatment!
True... It's your forum and you can do whatever you want, edit, delete, etc.

What browser are you using? It wouldn't surprise me if a browser went rogue and did something off-script with the remove-formatting function (which isn't implemented how you'd think, and certainly isn't the first time the editor has had side effects)

Also, please do remember that not everyone speaks English as a first language and that what is being interpreted as anger may be frustration at not being understood.

Criticism is fine, I think even towards a certain person. But publicly goading a reaction, or calling someone names or otherwise insulting them, without actual feedback, is not just criticism. This is something that marcosbr should already be aware of, from having these similar interactions with the team for years. Yes, there might be some language barrier here - but it does not explain personal attacks, like some of the posts we've seen in the past. And this history may set the bar for moderation action fairly low.

When I write and post. automatically I check the message.
Before that I still use the preview!
I've never seen an error on a smartphone or CPU (apparent to me). I use Chrome. I don't know about the others!
I do some translations of Mods, themes, etc...
Sending, and the person can use/delete/edit/not use etc...
I do it with great care. There is a lot of difference between pt_BR and pt_PT
Some common expressions in Portugal... I would be killed if I used them in Brazil! hahahaha
In a translation I choose very carefully what to say. A long sentence in English can often be translated into 3 or 4 words.

Because that's really where we're at now. The 'I'm just posting from mobile' doesn't excuse what looks to me to be like terminal rudeness.

Lesson picked up from Meat Loaf: if you have to raise your voice in an argument, you already lost. And I see the text equivalent of raised voices in this thread. A charitable interpretation might pretend this is the Anglosphere meme of 'instead of trying to use a foreign language just speak louder and slower until they get it' but that's hardly a winning interpretation either.

The saddest part is that yesterday I had reason to look at 3.0's repo and... I was genuinely impressed with what's gone on. It's just a shame that it's being held back by the community, but as much as people tell me it's changed in the last decade, it really, really, really hasn't. The names have, the exact moods have but the fundamental problems haven't.

This topic demonstrates the problem with treating an enthusiastic fan poorly just because they don't conform to how you think communications should be done. I think that says an awful lot about the state of online discussion, and in particular how the SMF team choose to comport themselves. Small wonder that MyBB long since overtook SMF in adoption despite not having actually figured out a mobile theme in core yet, because who'd actually come here for support?

I, unfortunately, ran into that recently as well. I started a message on the boards here but decided to privately message a couple of the team members regarding the current status of the project seeing as it's basically floundering pretty hardcore. One of them didn't bother replying and the second one replied but after I offered up some suggestions they didn't reply either.

That is pretty accurate. Outside of a couple people that show up online and reply to posts where is everyone else? What is everyone doing?

Whatever I guess...if someone like Arantor wants to get involved again he should be added back on, never mind this ridiculous gatekeeping.
