Hi all:

We recently upgraded our SMF from 2.0.15 to 2.1.5 moving the database to another host. We have encountered an issue with the main log in screen. Each time we try to log in a member, it will give us a "Token verification failed. Please go back and try again."

Yet, we can use the log in button at the top left of the screen and log in just fine.

Any fixes?

It's probably not a bug. You have to rename the cookies and reset the sessions when going between 2.0 x and 2.1.x

But don't you mean 2.1.4? Because 2.1.5 has not been released yet

We have renamed the cookies then saved the change but no results. When you say reset the sessions, do they auto reset when changing the name of the cookies?

usually, yes...

1- are you using www or non-www for your site? Are you accessing the site through the correct one?
2- did you try DELETING your local cookies?
3- What is your setting for subdomain independent cookies?   what about database driven sessions?

There is no setting on/off box for subdomain independent cookies. Database driven sessions is turn on. Also, local storage of cookies is turned off.

I appreciate your help. I tried that this morning, no joy. Tried it just now, same.

We are thinking of installing the large upload version again.

Is the issue you are experiencing on the current host, or in the new host. If the later, have you run the repair_settings.php tool after the move?

The forum is still up and running on the old host and running fine. But we do not need two hosting services.

The new host is where our website is and are having issues with the log in screen. I wish I could switch the log in screen 1 and 2 positions. That would fix everything.

EDIT...  was told we already ran the repair_settings with no luck.
