Fatal error when converting from phpbb3 to smf

Everything seems to work and then all of a sudden I get this message:

The url in the browser says:smf/convert.php?step=1&substep=19&start=41200

I have no idea how to fix this, hope someone can help!

What version of Smf are you converting to and what is your php version?

To 2.0.19. I got it to work somewhat, although it skipped posts, yet says it has more posts and topics. Very strange. I set the PHP to 7.4 for conversion, now it's at 8.1 as I upgraded to SMF 2.1.4. Seems to work ok although I had to get rid of a bunch of strikethrough coding and now I have an issue "8: Undefined index:" errors. This is why I can't stand phpbb. I converted a phpbb2 forum over a decade ago and that gave me a huge headache as well I remember.
