You can't do it in quick edit mode.  Go to the full post screen or the full edit screen

to change a post click on "More..." then click "Modify", don't click on QUICK EDIT.

You should then be able to add the image there.

I know this already. The issue is that i can't place the image inside the post.

Can you elaborate?

Any error messages?

Image too large? Wrong format maybe?

Here on the SMF forum, or on your own forum?

Did you attach an image, but want the image displayed within the post?

It's on my forum. there was no error but there is no place to click in order to insert the uploaded image into the post.

Ok thanks.

That should help the folks here determine the cause for the issue that you are having.
But they may also need some more information from you.  :)  i.e., SMF version, mods installed, etc...

and has this always been the case, or did it just recently start after making some changes to your forum?
If yes, what changes?

I thought it was just a simple issue, in my previous response.
