How you can help SMF

Quote from: shawnb61 on June 24, 2025, 06:37:07 PMI believe what's going on is this error is logged when (a) queryless URLs are enabled, and (b) a user with cookies disabled navigates the site.  Oddly, the user isn't affected, but these errors get logged in the background.  So they're harmless but annoying & numerous when these conditions are met...

Shawn, I also got loads of this error after patching to 2.1.5 but only on my guitarist guild site. It will produce these errors and I have cookies enabled.

Strange thing is, out of three of my sites which I updated only this one started filling the error log, and I had "Search engine friendly URLs" enabled (unbeknown to me) and my server doesn't support it. So turned it off and the errors stopped.

You're welcome to test it as you have account on there, if that would help.

I suspect that you were hit by either bots or guests with cookies disabled.  We've been seeing a lot of bots that behave like that...

No, I generate the error as admin as I navigate the site.   You could be right, It might just be coincidental me clicking through at the same time.
