I've looked through almost all the themes (all 1.1 I think), and I have not found a single multi-column dark theme, with the exception of one colour variation of Bloc's Simplicity, which for other reason is not suitable. I would like to request that if possible this need can be filled in the near future.

In my opinion, if you want to integrate a theme into a CMS/portal system, themes that are already multi-column work the best. I believe this will be true regardless of what CMS/portal system you're using. There are many ways to adapt a single-column theme to work with a multi-column portal, most unfortunately seem to tend towards what I call ugly boxes. An example is Techhead in tinyportal. It's a very nice single-column theme, but when made into a portal (sorry Bloc) looks horrid.

Here's an example with "vBadvanced CMPS":

And here is what I think was one of the pinoeers in this hideous design idea PHPnuke:

I think that portal integrations work far better when using multi-column themes already, as then the sidebar is not a later addition, but a core part of the original design coming from a single designers mind. There are many light themes that will do this excellently. Sadly though I have not found any SMF dark multi-column themes. I ask the theme designers of the SMF community to consider making one when they design their next free theme.
Thanks

Noted. :)

Seriously, I can agreed on the whole "box" trend. Its convenient, but its not how you would construct a personal site - or a multi-column layout for a business site. It tends to be more "loose" and following a concept.

I am working on a css theme though, that I hope will be more "fluid" - its main "concept" is that a stylesheet can change everything. Kind of what csszengarden is all about. That will also be paving way for multi-column themes, if it allows for "userareas" - which I will add.

Anyway, in order to make outstanding themes, one have to think outside of box1, box2,box3 - puzzle togheter any html code issues afterwards, and not letting that hinder the design on the initial stage. Imho. :)
